Summer Sessions: K.J. Walton
Over the next couple of weeks, PowerMizzou.com will talk to every Missouri scholarship basketball player in our annual series, Summer Sessions. The Tigers started summer practices last week. Today, we continue with sophomore guard K.J. Walton.
You've had a break, chance to look back at your freshman year. Individually were you happy with the way you progressed?
"Yeah, I think at the end of the year I progressed a lot. I kind of, like we talked about, hit a wall during the middle of the season. Just don't let that happen again. I think I learned from it and I've gotten better."
What specifically are you trying to add to your game or work on this summer?
"Jump shot. Just really my whole game. Jump shot, ballhandling, defense, just knowing where I'm supposed to be on the court. Just thinking the game more, being smarter, everything."
It's a little weird to say someone who's been here 12 months is a veteran, but that's reality. Is it a much different feeling with your class?
