Mizzou adds 2016 JUCO OL

With two unexpected departures from the offensive line this spring, Missouri has been in the market for an offensive line transfer who would be eligible in 2016.

On Wednesday, the Tigers landed their man.

Sacramento (Cali.) American River C.C. offensive tackle Kyle Mitchell announced his commitment to Missouri via Twitter.

Mitchell visited Missouri two weeks ago, and sources told PowerMizzou afterward that the staff felt that Mitchell would eventually pick the Tigers. It was on that visit that Missouri offered Mitchell; he also held an offer from Texas Tech and visited there in late April.

Even though Mitchell is listed as a 2017 recruit, he was a full qualifier out of high school so he will be immediately eligible to play at Missouri. He has four years of eligibility remaining to play three. At 6-4, 315-pounds, Mitchell appears to have the size and length to add depth at either tackle spot for the Tigers -- which is where Missouri needs depth the most.
