Busy summer for Connor Robbins

The addition of satellite camps hasn’t just added to the workload of college coaches, but also the recruits they’re watching. Take Connor Robbins for example.

After camping at Georgia over the weekend, the 6-foot-8 offensive lineman drove straight from the Peach State to Auburn to make another camp. After giving himself a five-day break, he’ll camp with Miami this weekend.

And that doesn’t even count the Florida satellite camp he’ll attend in a few weeks or the one he did with Michigan down in Jacksonville last Thursday.

Despite the crazy travel schedule, and the mileage he’s putting on his car, Robbins has enjoyed the recruiting process this summer and has enjoyed the convenience the camps provide.

“I would never go up to Michigan to camp so it’s cool that they’re there,” he told PowerMizzou.com in the car on his way to Auburn.

An unranked recruit by Rivals, Robbins currently holds 20 offers including Missouri, Maryland, Memphis and Pitt among others.

Tigers offensive coordinator Josh Heupel and offensive line coach Glen Elarbee are in constant contact with Robbins but his busy schedule, and living far away in Florida will make it tough for him to camp with the Tigers.

“(Coach Elarbee) messages me everyday,” he said. "I called him two weeks ago. I have interest in Missouri. They’re a big school and their coaches are cool.”

Robbins is currently used as a guard at Pedro Menendez High School (Fla.) and is undecided on a college major. His size gives him a high ceiling as an offensive lineman, and his 324-pound frame is well constructed since he spends the offseason weightlifting and doing throws in track and field.

His high school uses a very run-heavy offense, which is why he plans to spend the summer working on his technique, so he can adjust to different offensive systems in college.

“My number one thing I want to get better at is my stance,” he said. “The way I punch and stuff. My run-block is good but I can always improve anything.”
